ITMA

The ITMA (International Textile Machinery) has been the leading exhibition in the textile industry since it started in 1951. It is dedicated to textile machinery, tailoring, and raw materials and is held every 4 years in a European city and every 2 in China. For one week, professionals discover innovative ideas, efficient technological solutions and new business opportunities.

Visitors come to ITMA to discover trends, manufacturers of cloth, sporting items and clothes for the home, as well as designers, retailers and wholesalers, fashion students and organisations in the textile sector. The quality and performance of clothing is one of the concerns for being more competitive, but also formulas to offer more sustainable finishes.

ITMA also offers textile machinery demonstrations: spinning, embroidering, knitting, cutting, washing, folding or digital printing, and others. There are also threads and fibres, dyes and chemical products for the textile industry, waste recycling services and design software. The entire textile and clothing value chain brings innovative and sustainable proposals.

Innovation has a prominent place at ITMA through the Innovation Lab, which is a space that provides a platform to speakers to share the knowledge they have acquired through their R&D work in different areas covered by the exhibition. There are also Sustainable Innovation Awards, with a category for Excellence in Industry and another for Excellence in Research and Innovation.
