Smart City Expo World Congress

The Smart City exhibition is dedicated to the cities of the future and is held every year in the halls of the Gran Vía at Fira de Barcelona. Across its 3 days, talks and round tables are organised to exchange ideas and discover solutions that have been implemented in other cities.
The issues discussed are digital transformation (IoT, cybersecurity), urban environments (smart waste management, construction materials), mobility (smart transportation, climate change), government and finances (infrastructures, industry) and inclusive cities (circular economy, equality). It attracts public representatives and experts from all over the world looking to open up paths to collaboration.
At the Smart City Expo World Congress, 20-minute networking sessions are organised with potential clients through the Brokerage Event program. It is an opportunity to establish international relationships with public or private institutions that require innovative solutions for their cities and also with universities and research groups or entrepreneurs and large companies.
In addition to the exhibition area, the Smart City Expo World Congress has a congress area where leaders in the sector can share their vision and good practices are shared to build the future in other activities around the themes of the exhibition. Hundreds of accredited reporters attend, spreading the values of sustainability and inclusion promoted by the exhibition and its exhibitors.
The World Smart City Awards recognise projects and strategies that promote sustainability in the city and innovative idea categories, as well as the main themes of the exhibition.
